"Pop Top" was Jim Basnight's first solo album, originally a cassette only release in 1992 and his first CD album release in 1993. It has never been released digitally for downloads and streams and long out-of-print in any physical form.

The album's closer, "Restless Night," was released as a Big Stir Records digital single in 2019, and three tracks, "Hello Mary Jane," "Stop The Words" and "Opportunity Knocks," were included on Jim's career retrospect CD album "We Rocked and Rolled" in 2008.

But that leaves a good album's worth (14 tracks), which have never been available to download or stream, and it's one of the finest examples of late 80's and early 90's pop-rock.

In addition, the entire album has been expertly remastered by Jim’s longtime co-producer, engineer, and bassist, Grammy winner Garey Shelton.
